Hi everyone,
Please enjoy this week’s 4 points!
1) The cost of inaction
An idea I’ve been thinking about lately is what happens when we don’t do what we say we’ll do.
I believe the cost of this occuring is much greater than orginally expected.
We may feel we missed out. We may feel guilt for procrastinating.
The real loss, however, is that we have devalued our own word. We have lost trust with ourselves.
When we make a commitment to do something we should do it solely to maintain the integrity of our inner voice.
2) Who would I be..?
An excellent question to ask oursleves is, who would I be without this story?
This belief?
This identity?
This fear?
This question takes courage, becuase we have to look beyond the safety of the familiar.

3) The whys
I spend a lot of time speaking with athletes about the nature of their thoughts.
A sentiment I have heard a few times now is ‘the whys’.
We all know the whys - “Why did I do that”, “Why didn’t I do that”, “Why did the coach do that”..
The thing about the whys is that they are past-oriented thinking. They steal cognitive resources required to act in the present moment and allocate them to the past.
Some alternatives I prefer: I get to do this, I want to make a change, I intend to make a better play this time.
4) Quote of the week
“I am constantly trying to communicate something incommunicable, to explain something inexplicable, to tell about something I only feel in my bones and which can only be experienced in those bones.”
- Author Franz Kafka
Thank you for your time and attention this week.
